REICHRICHTER: Dream / 4 Units of Imagination
1 episode in total (around 29 mins.)
Dream is after Trip and Score the last of three pieces of the installation A million words away. The installation builds on REICHRICHTER’s research into forms of early conceptual art in the years after World War II in Taiwan.
The piece is based on the manifesto “11 Sentences in the Process of Imagination” that REICHRICHTER developed during the process of the work. While grappling with the impacts of the ‘technical image’ on inner images, they discovered experimental films by young artists from the 1960s in Taipei. REICHRICHTER dreamt of getting into contact with one of the directors and of diving into a conversation with him about the elderly artist’s perspective on space and time – his use of the house, the gallery, the studio, the public, what is his relation to the contemporary, the past, the future?
The audio track uses three different female voices in their mother languages in succession for the same content. The music is composed and produced by ai.disco.
